Where do I start?
Okay first, here's the schedule
July 23rd: CrossPointe, Columbus, IN, 6:30 p.m.
July 31st: Holton, IN Christian Church, Ummm....6:00?
August 14th: Whitewater Christian Church, 6:00?
I'll keep you posted on the questions.
So, we just got back from our Arkansas tour, and it was THE AWESOME!!11!! We all got pretty badly sunburnt (except Q, I wonder how he kept from getting burnt? :)), but that was the only downer. We rocked out with the folks at Jacksonville Church of the Nazarene, Grace Church of the Nazarene and Marshall Road Baptist Church, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. God really blessed us with a fairly uneventful trip, though our A/C and Generator quit working on Sunday, but some very incredible people stepped up to help us get it fixed. I won't say any names, and you know who you are, but I want to express to you my gratitude from all of us on the tour. That really, really lifted our spirits.
Just to give an idea, a weeklong trip to Arkansas on the RV and with the Vans killed about $700 worth of gas, just for one week. For those who are going into Christian music for the money, I would highly suggest you choose another profession. :D I say that just to let you know that your prayers, contributions, and the kind words go a long way to propel this ministry.
I would also like to thank the supporting staff who went with us. We're talking about a total headcount of 17 people went on this mini-tour, and that is huge for a band who is really just getting started, like us. Jake, Jonathon, Ron, Sarah, Sharon, Jenny, Michelle, and Dad really gave of themselves and are people who, if you ever attend one of our events, you should really get to know. Find the folks who are setting up equipment and tearing it down and let them know you appreciate what they do. Without thier support, Xtremity would not be the band it is today.
My Mamoo and Papoo also came and provided food. Let me tell you, we ate like royalty on this trip, and we owe it all to the kindness of my grandparents. They donated the food and time and it was sooooo incredible. I don't even think Aerosmith tours like we do with our own chefs. :D That was a joke, so don't go thinking we're primadonnas or anything like that.
We've also been updated on our concert in September. This is a benefit concert to help fund the Rich Mullins scholarship at Cincinatti Christian University (formerly known as Cincinnatti Bible College). Be sure to check out there site for details at
www.ccuniversity.edu and go to the alumni section and then to concert. This will be an awesome time as we're oppening up for Dove Award winner Mitch McVicker, who is a great guy, and has a couple of awesome folks who tour with him.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as new things come our way all the time. We're just trying to stay in the center of God's will and trust only in Him.
Thanks,
Chris Payne
